Judy Collins, famous for creating music of love, hope and healing, was the keynote speaker for The LCADA Way, “Pearls of Wisdom” benefit and recognition dinner at the Emerald Event Center in Avon.

“We were very excited to have Judy Collins as our speaker this year,” Thomas Stuber, The LCADA Way president said. “Her personal experiences and story of addiction, triumph and recovery was an inspiration to all.”

The LCADA Way is a non-profit organization that serves Lorain, Medina and surrounding communities, and is a recognized leader in wellness and addiction recovery. Close to 400 guests attended the benefit event, held each year to honor individuals and organizations that help those impacted by drug, alcohol and gambling addiction. A Community Service Award was presented to Dr. Don Sheldon for outstanding dedication and commitment to helping those affected by addiction. The Howard Marusa Award was presented to Ben and Jane Norton in recognition of their selfless giving to save lives and reunite families impacted by addiction. The John Longlais Award was presented to The LCADA staff member Jim Schrantz for his exceptional work in the field of addiction treatment and prevention.
