“We were very excited to have Dr. Pinsky as our keynote speaker,” said Dan Haight, The LCADA Way president. “His personal experiences working with people struggling with addiction and finding recovery inspires us all.”
More than 400 guests attended the event, which was held at the Embassy Suites Rockside. The LCADA Way benefit and recognition dinner is held each year to honor individuals and organizations who help those impacted by drug, alcohol and gambling addiction. This year’s honorees included President’s Award recipient Ridge Tool, Community Service Award recipient Discount Drug Mart and The John Longlais Award recipient Joel Karabinus. Hollie Strano of WKYC-TV served as master of ceremonies. In addition to dinner, guests enjoyed various drawings for grand prize raffle items, silent and live auctions.
The LCADA Way, serving Lorain, Cuyahoga, Medina, Erie Counties and surrounding communities, aids those struggling with addiction and striving for wellness. The “Pearls of Wisdom” dinner helps raise awareness of addiction support as well as raise funds to assist the non-profit organization in its mission of recovery. This year’s event raised more than $200,000. The LCADA Way serves about 6,000 clients annually. STORY BY CYNTHIA SCHUSTER EAKIN/PHOTOGRAPHS BY ERIC EAKIN
