More than 300 guests arrived at Landerhaven on October 4 for the Hospice of the Western Reserve’s Blue Diamond Celebration. Upon entry to the building, attendees walked down the blue carpet into the cocktail hour. Live Piano music played as guests perused the auction offerings and enjoyed the photo booth with an artistically created paper flower backdrop. Dinner consisted of several offerings all of which began with an Arcadian mixed green salad. Attendees had their choice of a Duet Entrée with Beef Short Rib and Oven Roasted Chicken Roulade stuffed with sun dried tomatoes, mozzarella and fresh basil, or Grilled Salmon with a lemon, garlic and tarragon cream sauce, or the vegetarian option of a seared Cauliflower Steak . Desert was a White Chocolate Lemon Cake with fresh berries. The event helped to raise more than $220,000 to support the Western Reserve Grief Services that are available to anyone within the community. The Grief Services offer various therapies for grief support along with bereavement camps, counseling and community crisis response programs. STORY AND PHOTOGRAPHS BY ALANA CLARK
