Holden Forests and Gardens’ hosted the picnic of the summer at the Holden Arboretum on Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. The event, Twilight in the Whimsical Woods, is Holden’s largest benefit of the year and helped to raise money for its mission to connect people with the wonder, beauty, and value of trees and plants, to inspire action for healthy communities. More than 500 people attended: many first-time visitors and families with young children. The event was presented with generous support from Key Private Bank.
Twilight in the Whimsical Woods took place throughout the arboretum grounds and feature a picnic dinner by A Taste of Excellence, music by Northeast Ohio artists including Thor and the Cleveland Wind Trio, activities for adults and kids including craft stations and tarot card readings, and a first look at the new Fairy Doors: Magical Garden Gateways. Event proceeds will support the People for Trees movement that aims to have 15,000 trees planted and cared for throughout Northeast Ohio by 2025 and to help ensure that the wonder and beauty of the Holden Arboretum and Cleveland Botanical Garden are available for all to enjoy.
