The Alleluia Ball, presented by the Catholic Community Foundation, was held at the Hilton Cleveland Downtown, raising $1.32 million which undoubtedly will impact the future of students and families of the Diocese of Cleveland.
Bishop Nelson Perez addressed the nearly 1,000 people in attendance, with his friend and featured guest speaker, His Eminence, Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan, Archbishop of New York. The theme of this year’s event, “Keeping Dreams Alive,” was directed to the Catholic school students and their families who dream of Catholic education and rely on tuition assistance from the Diocese of Cleveland. Each year the Catholic Community Foundation of the Diocese of Cleveland makes a distribution of approximately $ 2.3 million to provide 3,000+ students assistance, while the need continues to increase.
Bishop Perez was proud to celebrate the Alleluia Ball with all the wonderful people in the Diocese of Cleveland which raises funds for this mission which is near and dear to his heart – Catholic Education.
The Chair of the 2019 Alleluia Ball was Lorraine Dodero, who is recognized throughout Northeast Ohio for her community service and philanthropic involvement and endeavors. Dodero is the founder and current president of the Ohio Chapter of the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums. She led a dedicated group of volunteers to raise this year’s funds of $1.32 million.
