When it comes to back-to-school fashions, some staples for the fall include everything from ripped jeans, cozy sweaters, athletic wear and the ever-popular Birkenstocks for the Tweens and middle-schoolers!

Mackenzie Reid 10, of Chagrin Falls, who is entering fifth grade at the Chagrin Falls Intermediate School this fall, said her “must haves” include “sporty clothes,” or what is termed “athleisure” wear. Styles from name brands such as Nike, Under Armour, Adidas and Lululemon are popular. She is planning to wear a casual Nike dress, in a shade of deep blush, with sporty tennis shoes on the first day of school.

Other pieces heading into fall include ripped jeans (tight, not baggy) from American Eagle Outfitters, comfortable leggings and a variety of styles from Vineyard Vines for youth.
Cozy sweaters from Zara kids is another one of her top choices. Accessories include stacked bracelets, rings, and earrings and must-have shoes are Birkenstocks and Vans, in a variety of colors. It’s all about “comfort and cozy” heading into fall, Mackenzie said.

For older sister Nicolina, 13, who will be an eighth-grader at Chagrin Falls Middle School, ripped jeans are a must-have in both light and dark blue as well as jean skirts and black leggings. She plans to wear a lightweight blue jean romper from Hollister with light tan Birkenstocks on the first day of school.
Comfy sweatshirts, preferably hooded, and long shirts, are coupled with the leggings and athletic wear for easy, everyday fashion for the middle-schooler on the go. Charming T-shirts from Simply Southern and Vineyard Vines are other top choices this fall.

Nicolina’s favorite shoes heading into fall are Birkenstocks and Converse in white. Both can be worn with jeans and leggings.
According to Beth Schwartz-Grossberg, with two daughters attending Solon High School this fall, Emma, 17, said jean skirts, cropped tops, jean shorts, ripped jeans, cute college sweatshirts and Adidas sneakers (tennis shoes as they say in Ohio!) are trending as must-have, back-to-school fashions for high school.

Daughter Lily,13, loves vintage fashions and anything that is out of the ordinary, according to her mother. She loves to wear shirts in fun colors like orange and red, crop tops and turtlenecks, high-waisted blue jeans and bell-bottom pants. Her favorite pants and tops are by Brandy Melville. Funky tennis shoes and colorful Converse sneakers are popular for fall. 90’s Looks are popular.
